      I made this fairy design for a bookend that I created a while ago but with a few changes it scales down nicely to create a wooden pendent necklace.

Step1: Design

The design of this pendant was originally for a bookend that I made but I made some changes and reduced the size to make a necklace. 

I used 3mm birch plywood which is strong enough and can be stained or varnished to give a unique look.

Step2: Cutting

Even though this design is small, there is a lot of detail so took around 15 minutes to cut on my D1 laser using the settings shown above.

Step3: Necklace chain

Once you have finished cutting you will need a necklace or chain as well as a small metal jump ring to join the pendant and chain together. These can both be purchases online if you don't already have them available.
