Information

I made this owl forest ornament as a cozy woodland decor piece with a quiet moonlit feel. It works well for basswood, birch, or MDF ornaments and is designed to be giftable, nature-inspired, and beginner-friendly.

Instruction

1

Step1: Design and Preparation:

  • Open the owl forest design file and confirm the engraving, hanging hole, and outer cut layers are separated.
  • Import the file into your laser software, resize as needed, and keep the owl details readable at smaller sizes.
2

Step2: Laser and Material Preparation:

  • Choose a flat wood blank such as basswood, birch, or MDF and place it securely in the laser bed.
  • Measure, focus, and frame the design to make sure the full circle and hanging hole fit your material.
3

Step3: Processing:

  • Engrave the owl, branch, trees, and moon details first, then cut the outer circle and hanging hole.
  • Remove the ornament, clean away residue, and seal or stain for a darker rustic finish.
