Information

My project was born from a desire to create a wedding memory that goes beyond the simple visual framework. The aim is to make the memory of a unique day accessible through touch and hearing, by creating an inclusive object dedicated to the senses.
I chose wood and slate to create a thermal and tactile contrast.
I invite you to live a multi-sensory experience:
Touch Dimension: The integration of the Braille font (standard 1.5cm) allows a physical reading of names, date and personal text. Intertwined hands in relief symbolize union.
Auditory dimension: A personalized sound wave (thanks to the Atomm creation workshop) is cut into the wood, allowing to "touch" the melody of the wedding.
I also brought a touch of philosophy with the sentence inscribed in Braille "The essential is invisible to the eyes." — Saint-Exupéry.

This creation is not only exhibited, it can be read with your fingertips and embodies the values of sharing and inclusion that are dear to me.

Creation of vector files (Lightburn) including Braille transcription with the standard standard (dafont) and conversion of audio frequency to visual wave (Atomm Creative Workshop).

Step2: Laser cutting and engraving

Precision work on 3mm basswood to guarantee the relief of the Braille dots (essential for tactile reading) Longer than a classic engraving because the Braille dots are left in relief to create depth on the rest of the surface.

Be careful with the bending of the wood;)

Step3: Assembly and finishing

Place your markings on the slate after cleaning it for optimal adhesion (with a soft cloth).

If necessary, use a 240 pumice paper to remove burn marks and remove dust with a brush to avoid damaging the braille dots.

Glue the different elements on the slate using the SADER glue wood glue fast (put a sheet on the wooden elements, then a weight on the whole to help the gluing, for about 30 minutes and reduce the bending)

I chose to pass a Posca OR on some details and on the braille dots to make them stand out.

The rest is raw so that the tactile side of the materials is not distorted.

You can put on a matte spray polish if you wish.

I also assembled the tripod.
