This is a gacha or vending machine style gift that's thoughtful and fun, with little hearts that carry short messages of the things we appreciate about our mothers.
Instruction
Step1: Laser cut the pieces
Use a thinner plywood for the mini hearts, like 2mm.
Laser cut everything but the back of the front panel.
After laser cutting the front piece, turn it around and put it back. Replace the front panel with the backside in the same position.
Sand down and wax the circular depressions and moving parts.
Step2: Paint & glue
Paint the back of the mini hearts.
Glue a sheet of cut-to-size plastic to the depression in the backside of the front panel.
Step3: Glue the pieces
Glue the middle panel to the back panel.
Glue A2 in the side slots of A1. Place A1 in the circular hole in the middle panel.
Glue the top panel.
Glue the A3 pieces together. Glue them into A4 and A5. Glue the heart knob on top.
Carefully, place glue on A2 and the parts of A1 that can still be seen. Glue the knob in place, making sure the parts of A2 sticking out in slotted into the cut out spaces on A4.
Step4: Insert the hearts!
Place the mini hearts - painted side out - in through the hole at the top. As the hearts are not circular, give it a little shake if it doesn't come out smoothly.
