      Discover a unique decorative project that combines fine craftsmanship and technological precision. These small table lights are made from real chicken eggs, delicately emptied and then laser engraved to reveal patterns of great finesse. Each egg becomes a small natural lantern, diffusing a soft and warm light.
The eggs rest on small wooden nests, which are also cut and assembled by laser, creating an elegant support that is perfectly adapted to the shape of the shell. The set forms a poetic decoration, ideal for Easter, spring or simply to bring a handcrafted touch to your interior.

Step2: Preparation of the eggs

First of all, the eggs must be emptied.

I use a small pump (bought here) that allows you to empty the egg by making only one hole, which is cleaner and more aesthetic than the traditional two-hole method.

Once gutted, rinse the eggs thoroughly to remove any traces inside.

Step3: Cutting out the bottom of the egg

This opening will allow the light to be inserted and the egg to be placed on its nest.

Mark the center of the base of the egg.
Hold the egg securely. I personally use the xTool modular fastening system, very practical for this type of fragile part.
Create a frame to perfectly position the cutout circle in the center.
Start the laser cut.
Once the egg is opened, you can rinse it again for a flawless result.

Step4: Installation on the RA2/RA3

Preview

The egg is fragile: handle it gently.

Place the egg on your RA2 or RA3 rotary.
Install the rotary in the machine.
Focus on the highest point of the egg.
In your software, subtract 1 mm from the value obtained to compensate for the curvature.

Let your imagination run wild: the file is designed to give you maximum possibilities.

Step6: Engraving of the top of the egg

Once the turn is engraved:

Position the chosen design for the top.
Start engraving to finalize your decoration.

Step7: Cutting wooden nests

The nests serve as an aesthetic and stable support.

I made my cuts on the xTool P2S to save time and produce several nests in series.
But you can cut them with the same machine that you use to burn eggs.
