I designed this delicate Easter basket using laser-cut basswood to celebrate the beauty of spring and handmade creativity. The design features charming bunny silhouettes, floral cutouts, hearts, and decorative Easter eggs, all framed by a ribbon-shaped handle with a detailed egg centerpiece.
To bring the scene to life, I styled the basket in a soft garden setting and added colorful Easter eggs inside to create a cheerful spring atmosphere. The goal of this project was to combine intricate laser-cut details with a simple structure that is easy to assemble while still looking elegant and festive.
This piece can be used as an Easter decoration, a small gift basket, or a seasonal centerpiece. I love how laser cutting allows delicate designs like this to become real, functional pieces.
I hope this project inspires other makers to create their own Easter decorations. Happy crafting! 🌼

Step 1 – File Preparation
Open the design file in xTool Creative Space or your preferred laser software.
The file is organized for cutting
Confirm that the cut lines are set to the correct layer settings for your machine.
⚠️ Do not resize the file unless you adjust the slot or support thickness accordingly. Resizing may affect proportions and structural balance.
Step 2 – Material Setup
Recommended material:
3mm basswood plywood
Before starting the cut:
Place the wood flat on the laser bed.
Ensure the material is clean and free from dust or debris.
Confirm proper focus and calibration for your machine.
If using a different laser machine, run a small test cut first to confirm settings.

Step 3 – Laser Cutting
Load the material into the laser machine.
Align the design on the workspace inside the software.
Frame the design to ensure correct positioning on the material.
Start the cutting process.
⚠️ Always supervise the laser while it is operating.
After cutting:
Carefully remove the sign from the machine.
Remove any small pieces remaining in the letters

Step 4 – Assembly ⚠️ Attention
Start with the base and one side panel.
Insert one of the decorative side panels (the one with the cutout details) into the slots on the base.
Attach the basket arch.
Glue the arch piece to the two smaller side supports that connect to it. Let the glue dry completely so the structure becomes stable.
Install the arch assembly.
Once the glue is dry, insert the arch structure into the side panel that is already attached to the base.
Add the second decorative side panel.
Fit the remaining side panel with cutout details into the base and connect it to the arch assembly.
Reinforce the joints.
Apply a small amount of glue to all joints and connections to increase the strength and durability of the basket.
After cutting, you can finish the basket in several ways:
Lightly sand the edges if needed.
Paint the sign with pastel Easter colors.
Apply wood stain for a natural rustic look.
Seal with clear spray or acrylic sealer for protection.
