Letra S de ratán

To design the letter S we will have to follow the following steps:

• We will add a rattan template in svg. 
• As in this template, each shape comes separately, we are going to group them all. 
• We add text and write a letter S. We look for the font we like the most. 
• We take the letter and make it the size we want (I made it about 165 mm wide by 252 mm high).  
• We make an outline of the 6 of the letter S and make a copy of both. 
• We take an S of the original size and place it on the rattan template. Select both forms and click on combine and subtract. In this way we already have the S-shaped rattan template. 
• We place the outline around aligning both vertically and horizontally. Group and select to cut. 
• Take the other two letters S (original without rattan and outline), select them and click on combine and subtract in superimposition. 
• We have the rattan initial ready. We are going to create the beautiful name. 
• We insert text, in this case I have chosen the name Sofia, we choose typography ("I heart you") and adapt the size of the name to the size of the initial. 
• As Sofia has i and the period would be loose, we have to join the period to the letter. To do this, we insert an oval that covers the heart, select both shapes and click on combine and subtract. I have the name without the heart. We add a heart, make it small and place it on the i trying to put a little bit of the heart's beak inside the letter i. We select both shapes and click on combine and join. We already have the dot of the i attached to the word. 
• This is what we would do with names that have i or accent. 

We turn on our Xtool, place the material we are going to work with (3mm thick MDF board), adjust the height of the laser, check the parameters and hit start. We let the machine do the work. 

Once we have all the pieces we can paint them or leave them natural. 

We see that with this project we can make different decorations: 

1. Just the name.
2. Only the initial one.
3. Only the initial in rattan. 
4. Initial and name. 
5. Initial in rattan and name. 

This time I have painted the name with chalk white paint. Let it dry. 

Meanwhile, we glue the edge on the rattan initial and let it stick well. 

Next, we glue the painted name on the initial. 

Finally, I like to finish my projects by pouring a little matte spray varnish over the entire surface. 

The smooth S can be saved to make the same project with a different name.
