Preview

- Select Insert → Circle from the left side menu
- Draw a circle on the page and set the size to 2"w x 2"h using the Size(in) boxes on the top menu. Hint: You may need to unlock the constrain proportions by clicking on the lock icon between the height and width boxes if you didn't hold down the shift key when your were drawing to have a perfect circle.
- To add the snowflake cutout select Shape → Festival and click on the image in column 2 in the 3rd row from the bottom. HINT: you can use any of the images but remember that this will be cut out so if it is not attached to the main frame it will no be affixed when you cut it out.
- Select both the snowflake image and the circle and click Align → Horizontal align center and then Align → align top on the top menu. Then click Group from the top menu.
- In the Object setting dialog box on the right hand side set the Processing type to Cut with the following settings: 100/7/1 (Power(%)/Speed(mm/s)/Pass)
- This will be the front cover of your air diffuser.
2
Step2: Create back

- Create a smaller circle by selecting Insert → Circle from the left side menu
- Draw a circle on the page and set the size to 0.25"w x 0.25"h using the Size(in) boxes on the top menu. Hint: You may need to unlock the constrain proportions by clicking on the lock icon between the height and width boxes if you didn't hold down the shift key when your were drawing to have a perfect circle.
- Select this small circle and click Ctl-c and then Ctl-v (Cmd-c and Cmd-v on a Mac) to copy and paste 4 more times. When finished you should have five 1/4" circles.
- Position each of the circles around the bottom and sides of your circle making sure they are at least 0.25" from the edge. Use the image for placement but as long as they are at lease 0.25" from the edge and not in the center you will be fine.
- Select all 5 circles using the shift key as you click on them and In the Object setting dialog box on the right hand side set the Processing type to Cut with the following settings: 100/7/1 (Power(%)/Speed(mm/s)/Pass)
- Select Text from the left side menu and in the Text dialog box on the left side type in a + symbol. Use the following settings: Size(pt): 72, Typeface: Caveat, Style: Bold, Spacing: 0, Leading: 0, Align: center, Operations: Weld.
- With your new text (the + symbol) selected move it to an engrave layer using the Layer dialog on the bottom left of your design space. Click the Move to link in the bottom right corner of the Layer dialog box and choose a different colour from your cut layer. HINT: I use black for my engrave layer, blue for my cut layer and red for my score layer.
- Select both the circle image and the text (+ symbol) and click Align → Horizontal align center and then Align → align top on the top menu.
- Click on your engrave layer and, In the Object setting dialog box on the right hand side set the Processing type to Engrave with the following settings: 60/150/1 (Power(%)/Speed(mm/s)/Pass)
- You have now created the back of your diffuser.

- Place your wood on the Xtool bed and turn on your machine, air assist and fan on and click the Process button.
- Make sure to Frame your image using the left top position and place the cross hairs of your laser along the top left corner of your wood.
- Hit Start on the top right of your Creative Space workspace and then click the Start button on your machine and cut and engrave your vent diffuser.
- Once your pieces have cut out position the spacer between your top circle (the decorated cutout side) and bottom circle (with the holes and engraved + symbol) and glue the spacer to the top and bottom lining up the edges. I sue Gorilla glue Gel and clamp with tiny clamps for a bout 10 minutes.
- Colour or paint if you choose to do so.
- Glue your vent clip to the back aligning in the center of your + symbol.
- Put a few drops of essential oil on your circular felt pad or spray with a scent of your choosing and slip between the back and the front from the opening at the top of the circle (this is why your spacer was not a full circle).
