Information

As a Retired Army Veteran, I wanted to do a special memento for my fellow comrades. You8 can customize it to reflect the specifics about the individual and the field. Or you can just make a generic coaster (the sky is the limit {endless}).

I thought these were rather simple, just learning the different tricks. Plus, YouTube helped out too.

Step1

  1. Place slate on the base plate (make sure that the auto measure light is on the slate).  Make sure it is squared off evenly, so that the image looks centered as much as possible.
  2. Center your image on the slate.  I gave mine a little added spacing on all sides to account for the broken/chipped slate particles.
  3. Then run the process.  Mine took about 10 minutes to engrave the design.
  4. After it finishes wait a few minutes for the dust to settle (yes, even if you have the fan running {your lungs will thank you}.
  5. I cleaned mine with a terry cloth and rubbing alcohol.

Hope you enjoy it.  I did and it made my day to see the smile of another Veteran.
