Information

The set includes engraved oval plaques for 1–12 months, a “Hello World” announcement piece, and a birth details plaque for date, time, weight, and height. Each piece is laser cut from 3 mm basswood and engraved, giving a natural, timeless finish that photographs beautifully and can be kept for years to come.

I’ve scaled this design down to suit my xTool X2, but the sizes can easily be adjusted for larger machines if you want to cut bigger plaques or work on a larger bed.

Step1

Each canvas contains one plaque only.

Open the design file and check that only one plaque is on the canvas.

Place your 3 mm basswood securely on the bed.

Set your engraving settings for the text and leaf detail (run engraving first).

Set your cutting settings for the outer oval shape.

Once complete, remove the finished plaque and repeat the process for each canvas, adjusting or re-positioning the wood as needed.

This method helps keep each plaque consistent, clean, and easy to manage—especially on smaller laser beds.
