Engraved Leather Hat Patch

Step 1) This project starts with an SVG image I designed with other software. This was brought into XCS software and was outlined with a 0.100 offset.

Step 2) Setting up the 2 point position system that is built into the S1. First step is to chose between rectangle, circle, polygon or line. in htis case a rectangle is set. With the original rectangled shaped leather patch on the work area the first point is selected by adjusting the laser module head to top left corner of patch. Care is needed here if you want to eliminate the stitching on the leather patch. Once the first point is registered by hitting the start button on the machine the laser module is moved to the lower bottom corner and the step is repeated. Now on the software screen the new created rectangle is visible.

Step 3) Now that the 2-point positions system has created a new rectangle it is a simple move to place the engraved and cutted image within the border of this rectangle.

Step 4) Once the laser has finished engraving and cutting the adhesive backing protector is peeled away to expose the sticky portion. Once this is done the new cut and engraved patch is applied to the hat. With pressing firmly on all surfaces of the patch it adheres to the hat very well.
