Information
Another gift for my stepson — a laser-engraved leather patch featuring a cartoon alligator and the very relatable quote "Play Stupid Games, Hit Stupid Balls." Designed in Procreate, cleaned up in Illustrator, and engraved onto brown PU leather using an xTool laser. Perfect for the golfer who takes their humor as seriously as their handicap.

Step1: Design Prep
Preview
Sketched the alligator and quote design in Procreate, then brought it into Illustrator to clean up the lines and prep it as a vector. From there, imported it into xTool Creative Space, sized it to fit the patch, and got it ready to engrave.

Step2: Material and Laser Prep
Gave the patch a quick wipe-down with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dust or oils and let it dry. Then laid it flat on the laser bed, used the framing function to confirm placement, and dialed in the settings for PU leather before running the engrave.

Step3: Finishing Touches

Preview
Once done, wiped off any smoke residue with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Let it dry and that's it — patch is ready to iron on or gift.
