Turn a photo, drawing, or logo into pixel art — then print it at a real size.
Most pixel art converters and pixel art makers stop at a PNG of unknown size. This one starts from the size. You set the print width in millimeters (20–1000 mm) and the DPI (300, 450, or 600), and the export is a PNG whose resolution and embedded print density match that width exactly. What you set is what comes out of the printer.
How your photo becomes pixel art
Drop in an image and it reads the artwork first — flat color, illustration, or photo — and sets the cell count, palette, and dithering to suit. Adjust from there:
- Cells across: 16–256, with the resulting cell size shown in mm as you drag
- Colors: 2–32, mapped to a palette you can see
- Black outline and visible grid, both optional
- Dither with adjustable strength for gradients
- Blur, gamma, brightness, contrast, and saturation on the source image
- Crop transparent edges automatically
Preview, export, and cut path
Preview it in Design, side by side with the original, in 3D, or on the product — the 3D view shows what clear acrylic printed on one side actually looks like from the back, and Mockup drops the artwork at true size onto a photo of a T-shirt, tote bag, or wood board.
Export gives you two files: the pixel art as a PNG at exactly the size you set, and the same artwork as an SVG — vector rectangles rather than a trace — with the cut line drawn over it in red. The cut line traces the outer edge of the pixels, holes included, so the shape you see is the shape that gets cut, and red is what cutting software reads as a cut. (No kerf compensation; set that in your machine software.) A mirrored back for double-sided printing is one checkbox away.
Because the pixel art grid has a known cell size in millimetres, it also works as a pattern reference for perler beads, cross-stitch, and other grid crafts.
What works best
Best results come from flat illustrations, logos, and line art with clear color blocks. Detailed photographs — especially faces and busy backgrounds — lose definition once they're reduced to a few dozen cells; crop in tight and lower the cell count when starting from a photo.
