Hand-Painted French Fries Stud Earrings

Turn tiny wooden cutouts into adorable French fries earrings with this easy step-by-step guide! These quirky studs make a fun accessory or a great handmade gift.
Materials Needed:
Laser-cut wooden French fries shapes (about 10-15mm)
- Acrylic pens or paints: yellow, red (white, and brown for shading)
- Fine detail paintbrushes, if you use paint.
Clear acrylic sealer (matte or glossy)
E6000 glue or strong jewelry adhesive
Stainless steel earring posts & backs
Tweezers (optional but helpful)
Instruction
Step1: Prep the Wooden Cutouts
Cut your design with my attached settings. Start by lightly sanding the edges of your laser-cut wooden pieces if needed. This removes any burn marks from the cutting process and ensures a smooth painting surface.
Step2: Paint
Use acrylic markers, or tiny paint brush to apply colors.
Paint the fries section bright yellow as the base color. Apply a second coat if necessary for full coverage. Paint the container red to resemble a classic fast-food fry carton.
Let each layer dry completely before moving on.
You can add extra layers, if you want:
Shading the Fries: Use a mix of yellow and a tiny bit of brown to add shadows between the fries, making them look more 3D. A fine brush works best for this!
Container Highlights: Add a small white highlight on one side of the red carton to give it dimension.
Extra Touch (Optional): For a McDonald’s-style look, you can paint a small yellow arch or another simple logo on the container.
Step3: Seal Your Design
Once the paint is fully dry, apply a clear acrylic sealer to protect your work. A glossy finish makes the fries look extra crispy, while matte gives a more subtle look.
I am adding it to the front and the edges now. Back will be sealed only when the studs are on.
Step4: Attach the Earring Posts
Apply a small dot of glue (super glue or E6000 ) to the back of each piece.
Press the earring post onto the glued area and hold for a few seconds.
Let it cure for a few minutes to ensure a strong hold.
Step5: Seal the back side
Now you can add the extra coat to the back too, so you can make it extra secure.
Step6: Wear & Enjoy!
Your mini French fries earrings are ready to show off! Pair them with your hamburger earrings for the ultimate fast-food-inspired look.
