Information
A fun and easy project to use all the keyrings you get from the XTool's material package.

My dance teacher have a playlist that everyone uses and she was exited when I gave her a keyring with the Spotify QR for this play list.
(The one you see in the cover the image is the one I got for me to troll my friends)

Instruction
1
Step1: Get the Spotify code from the song/Playlist/Artist
Preview

(From left to right)

  1. Go to you song/playlist/artist on Spotify
  2. Click on the 3 dots next to it
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page
  4. Choose the “Show Spotify Code” option
  5. Take a screenshot of the page with the code in it

* The Next steps can be done in any image editing software you want, using the xTool Creative Space is just the way I can make it easier for everyone to follow along

2
Step2: Import and cut the image
Preview
  1. Import the image to XTool Creative Space program (or any editing program you like)
  2. Using the “Edit Image” → Crop function, cut the QR code, we will want only this part of the image.
3
Step3: Polish the image
Preview

There are 2 main ways to polish the image: (I recommend using both)

  • (on the right) From the main image settings, play with the grayscale variables to get a black and white image (you can also play with the sharpness)
    • For me 0-146 worked fine (but the range of a good image is big)
  • (on the left) Go to the Edit Image and use the magic eraser to delete the background.

From this point you can just use this image for engraving, next part is for better results and for cutting

Step4: Get the outline as a shape (for better results and cutting)
Preview

After polishing the image you have 2 ways to get the outline of the image: (for me, after editing the image on different programs, different ways where best)

  • Using the Outline option from the top bar will give you the outline of the image - if you have a high quality image, this method with the ‘Offset distance’ of 0 to 0.5 will give great results.
  • Using the image options - Trace image play with the variables to get the outline of all of the parts in the image (for me the small lines did not show at the beginning) but still not have a lot of artifacts.

Step5: Now it's your time!

Have fun and engrave/cut it → (I do not believe scoring will give you a good end result)

**Remember - You must have the Spotify logo for the code to work!

(To scan the code use the option inside the Spotify app, normal scanning will not work)
