“Erasing of the Self” — Ticus Poetry Laser Engraved Black Slate Coaster

This project demonstrates how laser engraving can translate detailed illustration, typography, and emotion onto a relatively small surface. The artwork was carefully arranged around the circular shape of the slate, balancing several lines of text with the dissolving figure without sacrificing readability. Fine particles, clothing details, shadows, and lettering remain visible against the dark stone, creating a finished piece that feels less like a conventional coaster and more like a small engraved work of art.
