Project description
This decorative mirror has been designed to bring a natural and warm touch to an interior while highlighting the laser engraving work.
The frame is inspired by floral and plant motifs. The engraved leaves and flowers create a wooden lace effect that delicately surrounds the central mirror. The whole evokes a plant crown, a symbol of nature, growth and harmony.
The project was carried out using an xTool S1 40W.

Step1
The project was designed in several stages in order to obtain a harmonious and elegant rendering.
The first step was to create the circular floral pattern that surrounds the mirror. The various leaves, flowers and decorative elements were engraved and then cut out of 3 mm basswood plywood using the xTool S1.
When designing, I wanted to avoid a simple circular opening around the mirror. An additional decorative outline was therefore created and cut separately. This piece makes it possible to make the transition between the mirror and the floral motifs, while bringing more relief and visual balance to the whole.
After engraving and cutting, this outline was carefully positioned and glued in order to harmonize the different elements of the project. It helps to give a more finished look and highlights the central mirror more.
A 15 cm round mirror was then attached to the back of the cut-out. To maintain a light and economical project, a rigid cardboard support was added to the back to hold the mirror and stiffen the whole.
The combination of engraved wood, decorative outline and mirror creates a wall decoration that is natural, elegant and easy to customise.
