Information
I work with a blind lady that shows a big interest in the work I do on TikTok. I thought it was a great opportunity to create her something that was both the result of one my TikTok lives, and that gave me something nice to give her.
It's a tactile, multi-layered Christmas Tree-shaped ornament unique to my friend. I use my lives as a tool to spread a positive message around Mental Health, and, at this time of year especially, it's easy to forget how isolating it can be for those with no impairments, let alone those with them.
Instruction

Step1
Step One: Breakdown Of The Project File.
- The main Christmas Tree shape should just be a straightforward cut.
- There are two ‘braille sets’;
- The First is set to ‘score’ on the second tree shape. This should be used as a guide as to where fix the other set once they have been cut out.
- The Second set should be a straightforward cut. I kept them with the spacing etc. mainly as a visual tool. You will need to keep these safe when they have been cut as they are quite small and fiddly to handle.
- There are two ‘baseplates’. Once cut these can simply be glued together and placed aside. Make sure the slots are aligned as closely as possible. If they are not quite right, you may have difficulties putting the completed Christmas Tree shape into place.
Step Two: The Processing.
- The file should have everything sorted for you to frame the pieces on your piece of wood, and click the process button.
Step Three: Putting It All Together.
- On the Christmas Tree shape, use wood glue to fix the second tree shape (with the scored braille lettering) on top of it.
- Use the wood glue again, and ideally some tweezers, to dip the end of each cut out ‘dot’ into place. Please Note: The spacing and accuracy of the lettering is essential with braille so please take your time to ensure you fix them as close to the scored lines as possible.
- Once this has been done, you can now add the ‘outline’ piece around the lettering you've just glued into place.
- Once you've done this, you should be in a position to paint/decorate it however you like, and push the completed tree into the stand.
Step Four: Enjoy!
- I hope you enjoyed putting this together. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or feedback. Thank you.
