Magnets are the smallest sellable thing a laser makes: a 40 to 60 mm shape, a shallow engrave, and a self-adhesive disc on the back. That makes them the standard use for offcuts and the standard product for a first market stall. Popular forms include layered animals, city and landmark silhouettes, food and drink motifs, name tags for lockers and classrooms, and photo magnets on coated blanks. Because the piece is small, contrast matters more than detail, and a bold outline reads better than fine internal shading. A neodymium disc glued into a shallow back pocket holds far better than an adhesive pad, which matters once the magnet has to carry a note.
