This feature lets you generate fully customizable 3D / laser-ready models by simply adjusting parameters, no CAD skills required, and send them straight to xTool Studio for cutting or engraving.Whether you’re a maker, crafter, or laser cutting enthusiast, Generators help you go from idea → design → cut in just a few clicks.
What Are Generators?
Generators are smart, adjustable designs. Instead of editing geometry manually, you control the design by changing values such as:
- Width, height, depth
- Material thickness
- Slot size or joint tolerance
- Number of compartments or layers
The model updates instantly based on your inputs, accurate, consistent, and ready for laser cutting.
Step 1: Access Generators in Atomm Creative Lab
- Visit Atomm.com
- From the top navigation, go to Creative Lab
- Look for the "Generator" section (currently in Beta).
You’ll find a growing library of generators, including:
- Curved Wave Lamps and Slatted Lanterns.
- Custom Box Generators with perfect joinery.
- Holiday Decor like Pyramid and Sliced Christmas Trees.
Step 2: Customize Your Parameters
Once you select a model (e.g., the Slatted Cylinder Lamp), a 3D preview and a control panel will appear. This is where the "parametric" magic happens:
- Dimensions: Use the sliders to adjust the height, width, and number of slats.
- Material Thickness: This is the most important step. Input the exact thickness of your plywood or acrylic (e.g., 3.2mm). The model will automatically recalculate every slot and tab to ensure a "snap-fit" result.
- Live Preview: Rotate the 3D model to see your changes in real-time before you commit.
Step 3: One-Click Import to xTool Studio
Atomm is built to work seamlessly with the xTool Studio.
- When your design is ready, simply click the "Import to Studio" button.
- The software will launch automatically (if installed), and your design will appear on the canvas as a perfectly scaled vector, categorized into cutting and scoring layers.
Step 4: Precision Snap‑Fit Assembly
Accurate parameters ensure every part fits with mechanical precision. For complex builds, switch on Exploded View to see each tab and slot clearly. Align pieces with the visual guide; laser kerf compensation makes them slide together smoothly. Press gently to lock tabs, no glue needed, just a sturdy structure that highlights pure engineering beauty.
